Friday, October 27th, 2006
Are you looking for information on how your store pages are indexed by Yahoo! Search? Register and authenticate your store with Yahoo! Site Explorer to get detailed information about search activities on your Yahoo! Store.
What is Yahoo! Site Explorer
Site Explorer is a tool that lets you access the information Yahoo! has in our search index about a site’s online presence. You can see which sites and subpages are indexed by Yahoo! Search, track sites that link into your pages, and view the most popular pages from any site.
Use Site Explorer to:
- Find which subpages within a URL are indexed by Yahoo!.
- Find pages that link to that site or any page. (inlinks)
- Submit and track feeds for your sites.

Authenticate your Yahoo! Store:

- In the Authenticate with Yahoo! Site Explorer section, enter the alpha-numeric Filename and File Contents that you have obtained from Site Explorer.
- After clicking Done, publish your Order Settings.
Tell Site Explorer Your Store is ready to Authenticate:
- Return to Site Explorer, and click Ready to Authenticate. Site Explorer will then check for the authentication file within 24 hours and your site should be authenticated. Learn more.

Yes there will be support to submit a site feed in the future. We are working with the Site Explorer team to make this happen.

Yes–this feature is available to Legacy stores as well. Go to the Search Engines page appearing in the Promote column of the Store Manager. If you do not see this area, please contact our customer care team for assistance.

Howdy,
I’ve been trying to authenticate my store now for about a week and failed about 4 times.
I keep following the instructions but it keeps failing.
Can I get some help please. right now Yahoo has 74 of my pages and I have over 600. I could really use the exposure of those pages as we get into holidays. Thanks in advance.

This blog is for Yahoo! Store. Your question is better asked on the Yahoo! Search blog or forum.
Since we are in a separate group I couldn’t tell you the answer as to why your site may not be found. If your URL is not indexed, you should be able to submit it for inclusion. You can also use the instructions there for authenticating your site for Site Explorer to get info about how Yahoo! views your site (the instructions here are for Yahoo! Store merchants specifically).

I have been monitoring my store using the Site Explorer for a while. I noticed that the number of the subpages as well as the Inlinks vary a great deal every day, even every couple hours. I also notice that only a very small fraction of the subpage has been indexed even though I have submitted the main page as well as the sitemap a while ago. Any suggestions anyone? How can I get all the subpages of my site to be indexed?

So now that I have both of my stores authenticated (thanks for fixing that!), how do I submit a feed? Can I just put in the catalog.xml url?
It would look like http://www.mystorename.com/catalog.xml
Is that right?
