Ok, not sure what happened but my headtag doesn't show in my post! Basically, you add two lines to the head tags, the first with "icon" and the second one as above with "shortcut icon". Both reference the same url with your .ico file.

Hope this helps everyone!

To have the icon used in the browser bar all the time and not just for shortcuts saved in favorites, try the following:

I was able to use this and see my favicon in the browser bar instantly once I published my store.

Alright, I'm at a loss. Not sure why it won't work for me. Any advice? I admit I'm a newbie to this but I feel like I followed your directions to a T. Any guidance would be extremely helpful!

Thanks!

Mine worked fabulous. and immediately! I got stumbled, and I am sure this is the problem with everyone, speed reading! LOL! This is the text era, and we read and do everything in shorthand.

The thing I think that people are missing is this:

The file is ending in ICO.

I even did mine on Explorer and I am usual Diehard Firefox Fan.

There was a helpful tool I utilized for free via google search

thank you guys, this was something really bugging me about my Yahoo storefront! Now I really feel like I am paying for something that is MINE!

Now, I just have to figure out why my items are not coming up on the store searches when they are listed and I will be FINE. If someone can email me that would be great. Check me out through the site, vintagecorepatterns.com. Thanks.

jly,
When viewing in Firefox and Safari, your favicon displays fine. This looks like an IE-only issue.

Hi: I uploaded my favicon file in lib files. However when I try to view it using the url below, the icon cannot be displayed, just showing a red cross.

http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-43995723677285/favicon.ico

This is what I put in my head-tags:

How should I correct it?

Thanks,

Thanks Paul, it came just when I wanted it the most and makes my site looks better but not everyone is using Firefox.

The Favicon works well for me in Fire Fox but not in Internet Explorer.

I'm using the Yahoo Store Template. If anyone has solved the puzzle, please let me know. Thanks again.

Art,
The URL you are referencing doesn't exist. Try replacing the favicon reference with this:
http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-63188547252779/favicon.ico
