Andrew,

You probably know that the confirmation of the Paypal address is a security feature that ensures you will receive your payment.
It sounds strange that people are trying to make purchases with an unconfirmed Paypal address. Maybe they just don't realise their Paypal email address needs to be confirmed, in which case it's probably best to direct them to the Paypal site to confirm their address. Besides, if my memory serves me right, it is specified in the sign up process that you need to confirm your Paypal address.
On the other end, you might just be dealing with fraud attemps.

I have one qualm about the Paypal integration that Yahoo still hasn't addressed and doesn't seem to be willing to.

It stems from only allowing payments from confirmed Paypal addresses. If you select this option and a customer tries to place an order without a confirmed Paypal address it brings them back to your checkout page and says something along the lines of; "This order cannot be completed, please choose another payment option". It gives no indication that the order was rejected because the customer does not have a confirmed Paypal address. This frustrates a lot of my customers.

This only started to happen after Yahoo upgraded to the new Payment Center. Under the old payment center Paypal integration displayed this error message correctly. And if I remember correctly it even put the customer through a wizard to confirm their address.

Any word on this guys?
