January 2012 Feature Enhancements
Tuesday, January 24th, 2012
We rolled out our first release of the year early this morning, which included a number of enhancements for your Yahoo! store. This post provides information about some of these enhancements, as well as actions that may be required on your part. For the full list of enhancements, please read our New Feature Releases page.
First, an important note for all merchants: Upon your first visit to Checkout & Registration Manager following this release, your Publish Order Settings link in Store Manager will become active. If you have not made changes in Checkout & Registration Manager, you do not need to publish your order settings.
Date and Timestamp Added to Order Export File Names
Prior this release, file names for exported orders used the same name (e.g. Orders.csv), which could result in overwriting existing order export files. Date and timestamp information have been added to file names for exported orders in the following format: Orders-YYYY-MM-DD-HHMM. For example, if orders are exported in CSV format on January 24, 2012, at 7:01 a.m., the file name would be: Orders-2012-01-24-0701.csv.
New Saved Cards Option to Increase Buyer Awareness and Engagement
Saved Cards now has two options for informing registered customers about the feature. You may now display information about saving card information as a dismissible information box that appears after a customer completes their order and reaches the order confirmation page, or you may continue to display this information inline on the order confirmation page.

The new dismissible information box option for informing customers of the ability to save their card information
If you’re already using Saved Cards, the new dismissible information box will appear on your site the next time Order Settings are published, unless you update the new "Save Card Upon Order Confirmation" setting in Checkout & Registration Manager to "Show inline on order confirmation page."
Shipping Calculator Update for Floating Cart
When we launched Floating Cart, the shipping calculator feature included both the United States and Canada in the calculator’s country drop-down list, although some stores using Floating Cart did not offer shipping to Canada. The shipping calculator has been updated to resolve this issue.
By default, the Floating Cart shipping calculator now displays only the United States in the drop-down list. If you offer shipping to Canada and wish to display Canada as an option in the drop-down list, you must go to your Foreign Orders page in Store Manager, save your settings again, and publish your Order Settings. If you do not ship to Canada or do not wish to have Canada listed in the shipping calculator, no action is required.
Page Redirect Manager Support for Query Strings
You may now create redirects using page URLs that include tracking strings or other query strings. For example, if you have a marketing campaign landing page that includes a query string, such as http://www.mydomain.com/boots.html?trackingparameter, Page Redirect Manager will now recognize this string information and support the redirect rule for it. Please note that there are several known issues for creating redirects for URLs with query strings that pertain to redirecting a URL that is not the primary domain, and to redirecting non-active domains to active domains.
New Database Inventory Message Option
Using the new "Add contact message if unavailable" setting in the Settings section of the Configure Inventory page, merchants using Database Inventory may now choose between displaying an "item not currently available" message that simply informs the shopper that the item is not available, or a message that both informs the shopper that the item is not available and instructs them to contact the merchant. Read more information.
Item Inscriptions Highlighted in Order Manager
Inscription information for items ordered with an inscription option is now highlighted in Order Manager, making it easier to immediately see this information on-screen and when printed. When viewing an order in Order Manager that includes one or more items with inscription information, highlighted inscription information is displayed on-screen like in the example below:

We’d also like to bring your attention to these updates:
- Merchants using Risk Tools to block IP addresses may now include up to 150 IP addresses on their block list, and may add up to 25 entries at once. Previously only 100 IP addresses could be blocked, and only five entries could be added at once. Learn how to block IP addresses.
- Tax and shipping settings are no longer published when publishing Store Editor or Coupon Manager changes. Tax and shipping settings are now only published when Order Settings are published.
- A Catalog Manager search issue for stores using Editor 2.0 has been resolved. Merchants who previously experienced search result issues in Catalog Manager when using the "contains" option should now be able to locate items that contain the search criteria, rather than only exact matches.
- Issues with manual transactions for Diner’s Club cards beginning with "36**" are now resolved.
- Coupon discounts for coupons that exclude items are no longer applied to gift certificates when a gift certificate is ordered.
- Issues affecting use of the Saved Cards feature when the billing address section is hidden in checkout have been resolved.
- In response to merchant feedback, the "Revert," "Publish," "Upload," and "Download" icons in Page Redirect Manager have been replaced with labeled buttons to make these actions easier to locate and use.
- The performance of Coupon Manager when a large number of coupons are present has been improved.
