Earlier this month, I posted the first of our Yahoo Marketing Dashboard and Your Yahoo Store series, taking a look at the ability to see and track Facebook Insights data for your Facebook business page right from your Yahoo Marketing Dashboard. Today I’m going to cover another great Yahoo Marketing Dashboard feature that you can use to keep tabs on what customers are saying about your business: Reputation Tracker.

Your Yahoo Marketing Dashboard gives you the choice of using the free Reputation Tracker service that’s included with your Dashboard, or upgrading to the paid Reputation Tracker Pro service that has additional features and reputation data. Let’s have a look at the differences between the free and paid services, and the benefits of having reputation information at your fingertips.

What are Reputation Tracker and Reputation Tracker Pro?

Reputation Tracker and Reputation Tracker Pro let you view online reviews, ratings, and mentions of your business.

Using the free version of Reputation Tracker that’s included with your Dashboard, you can:

  • See the two most recent reviews and mentions of your business
  • See your details, trends, and sources for reviews, ratings, and mentions
  • See words commonly used in reviews and mentions

With a paid upgrade to Reputation Tracker Pro, you can:

  • Access additional online reviews, ratings, and mentions of your business from up to 8,000 sources, in one place
  • Compare your online reviews, ratings, and mentions with those of your competitors
  • Share reviews of your business through email, Twitter, Facebook, and more
  • Set up email alerts to be notified about new reviews
  • See your details, trends, and sources for reviews, ratings, and mentions
  • See words commonly used in reviews and mentions

How can I use reputation information?

Having access to what’s being said about your business online can help you stay on top of public sentiment that may be driving potential customers to your competitors. When you know about negative feedback from customers, you often have an opportunity to rectify the situation. Reviews and mentions can help you spot business issues that can affect all customers, and they can also help you learn about experiences individual customers had that didn’t meet their expectations, which gives you the chance to try and win those customers back.

Seeing positive feedback can help you understand what you’re doing that customers love, so you can do more of it. This can help you retain existing customers and potentially attract new business. The sharing feature in Reputation Tracker Pro gives you the ability to share reviews through email, Twitter, Facebook, and other channels, which can help you with your efforts to promote your business.

Your reputation information can also help you identify reputation trends. Look at when reviews were posted, what they’re about, and if positive or negative feedback is the trend. If you’ve made changes to your business during a certain time, this can help you determine if the changes you’ve made have affected customer sentiment, either positively or negatively.

With Reputation Tracker Pro, you have an opportunity to learn from your competitors. You can use Reputation Tracker Pro to gather information about the online reviews, ratings, and mentions of other businesses and compare what’s being said about another business online to what’s being said about your business. This can help you learn about how your competitors are viewed, and may let you identify opportunities to improve your business.

Where do I find this information?

The Overview tab of your Yahoo Marketing Dashboard includes a summary of your reputation information. To see more detailed information, click the Reputation Tracker tab, located near the top of the page in your Dashboard.

To learn more about the Reputation Tracker feature, you can check out our Reputation Tracker help section.

If you have a Yahoo Marketing Dashboard and haven’t been checking your reputation information, I encourage you to sign in to your Dashboard and have a look. If you don’t yet have a Yahoo Marketing Dashboard, you can sign up for one for free.

Remember, basic Reputation Tracker services are free and are included with your Yahoo Marketing Dashboard. If you decide you’d like to access more of your reviews, mentions, and ratings, compare them with those of your competitors, set up email alerts, and more, you can upgrade to the paid Reputation Tracker Pro service by clicking one of the upgrade links on the Reviews or Mentions page of your Dashboard, or by going to your Manage Services page and clicking the upgrade link for Reputation Tracker.
